STRATECH WINS ASIA PACIFIC ICT AWARD 2006 FOR iTS INTELLIGENT AIRFIELD/RUNWAY SURVEILLANCE & FOD DETECTION SYSTEM

Singapore, November 8th, 2006 - Singapore Exchange Mainboard listed Stratech Systems Limited ("Stratech") announces today that it has won the Research and Development prize for it's intelligent Airfield/Runway Surveillance and FOD* (Foreign Object and Debris) Detection System at the Asia Pacific ICT Awards (APICTA) 2006, held in Macau from the 2nd to the 5th of November 2006.

APICTA is an International Awards Program designed to showcase innovation, creativity and excellence in ICT in the Asia Pacific region among its network of 16 member-economies which include Australia, Brunei, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Korea, Macau, Malaysia, Myanmar, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam. APICTA provides the region's ICT entrepreneurs with valuable networking and product benchmarking opportunities, fosters ICT innovation and creativity, promotes economic and trade relations and facilitates technology transfer.

Code-named iFerret™, the award winning system, is an evolution of Stratech's Super BullsEye® II, the Next-Generation Weapons Scoring System, and fusion with its state-of-the-art Automated Foreign Object and Abnormality Detection technologies.

iFerret™, launched in February 2006 at Asian Aerospace, is a World First to utilize intelligent Vision to detect and classify foreign objects, with the ability to pinpoint the location of the foreign objects. This revolutionary system features self-calibrating cameras, automated scene analysis and configurable scan resolution for different object sizes. Providing continuous runway inspection in-between flights, it facilitates rapid recovery response through accurate assessment and real-time alert for FOD, bird strike condition, and even battle damage surveillance.

iFerret™ was previously awarded The Enterprise Challenge (TEC) initiative by the Prime Minister's Office of Singapore.

* FOD includes a wide range of materials: fallen parts off aircraft, detached runway light fittings, building materials, rocks, and even wildlife. According to The Boeing Company, foreign objects on runways have cost the aerospace industry an estimated US$4 billion (Source: National Aerospace FOD Prevention, Inc) in aircraft repairs, flight delays and airport maintenance annually.

About APICTA

The Asia Pacific ICT Awards (APICTA) is an international Awards Program initiated by the Multimedia Development Corporation of Malaysia to increase ICT awareness in the community and assist in bridging the Digital Divide. By providing networking and product benchmarking opportunities to ICT innovators and entrepreneurs in the region, the program is designed to stimulate ICT innovation and creativity, promote economic and trade relations, facilitate technology transfer, and offer business matching opportunities via exposure to venture capitalists and investors.

Participants of the Awards Program comprise members of the APICTA Network. They are guided by the Framework of Cooperation identifying how member-economies can work together in support of the Awards Program as well as other programs that foster development and growth of the ICT industry in the region. Its 16 member-economies include Australia, Brunei, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Korea, Macau, Malaysia, Myanmar, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam.

APICTA member-economies take turns in hosting the annual Awards Program, which is won through a bidding process. Meanwhile, nominees to the different awards are presented to APICTA by the respective economy coordinator and assessed by a panel of judges representing every member-economy. The first two APICTA Awards were held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 2001 and 2002 while the third was held in Bangkok, Thailand in 2003. The fourth year of the Awards was held in Hong Kong on 8-11 December 2004. The fifth year of the Awards was held in Chiangmai, Thailand from February 16-20 February 2006.
