CHANGES IN BOARD OF DIRECTORS AND EXECUTIVE MANAGEMENT
The Board of Directors of Stratech Systems Limited (the "company") is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Steven Lim Kok Hoong as a non-executive director of the company with effect from 17 July 2003.
Mr Steven Lim Kok Hoong is considered independent for the purpose of Rule 704(8) of the listing manual of the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Limited.
Mr Lim, 56, last held position was as a senior partner at the accounting firm Ernst & Young. A consultancy veteran, Mr Lim continued to serve in the capacity of audit engagement partner. As part of the team who migrated from Arthur Andersen to Ernst & Young, he was also responsible for the migration of the staff.
Prior to his stint in Ernst & Young, Mr Lim was a stalwart pillar with Arthur Andersen, functioning as the Managing Partner for 11 years. His responsibilities included management of the firm in Singapore which offered a full range of professional services like auditing, tax advisory services, management consulting services and accounting services. He also had direct client responsibilities where he served as the engagement partner on audit clients (both listed and private companies) and he also served as advisory partner on a number of audits of listed companies. Mr Lim also acted as advisory partner on a number of consultancy assignments, some of which included the restructuring of government departments/activities and statutory boards.
Within the last 3 years with Arthur Andersen Singapore, he also held the position of Regional Managing Partner for Arthur Andersen’s operations in Asean. From a management reporting perspective, effectively, Arthur Andersen’s practices in Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia and Vietnam will have reported to Mr. Lim.
With Mr Lim’s extensive knowledge and experience in the business world, the board is confident that he is well-suited to be an independent, non-executive director of the company.
Mr Lim is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Singapore (ICPAS) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia. He had previously served on the accounting standards committee and the auditing practices committee of the ICPAS. He is also a member of the Inquiry Panel of the Public Accountants Board.
A devoted alumni, he is also a member of the NTU 21st Century Fund Committee, Board Of Trustees for NTU Alumni Building Fund, Singapore Quality Award Governing Council and the Board Of Directors of International Trade Institute of Singapore Pte Ltd.
The Board of Directors of Stratech Systems Limited (the "company") is also pleased to announce the new appointment of Mr Tan Chee Peng to Group Chief Executive Officer. Mr Tan was before, the Chief Executive Officer of Stratech Systems Limited. On his new appointment as Group CEO, he will also oversee all the other subsidiaries under the Stratech umbrella. Other Stratech subsidiaries include Strategic Technologies Pte Ltd, Stratech Life Sciences Pte Ltd, Stratech Vision Pte Ltd, Stratech (Hong Kong) Ltd, Stratech Systems (Shanghai) Ltd, Safe-Ex Global Pte Ltd.
